ARAMP Training

In line with RAP3 Continuing Professional Development annual timetable, RAP3 DTA team Morang conducted CPD training on Annual Road Asset Management Plan (ARAMP) (Module 1A, 1B,1C,1E & 1F) on 20th of December 2015. 22 technicians from DDC/DTO/RAP DTA participated in training including Mr. Samar Khanal, Chief District Engineer. The main objective of this training was to provide the key aspects of ARAMP preparation to DTO/DDC/RAP3 staffs for strengthening their skills and knowledge and also to make familiar with ARAMP Excel Template

RAP3 DTA team Bajura conducted 2 days ARAMP training on 20 & 21 December 2015. 10 technicians from DDC/DTO/RAP DTA participated in the training.

 

Local Road Coordination Committee (LRCC) Review Meeting, Kalikot

On 18th Decemeber 2015, three LRCCs (two LRCCs of Sannighat-Shyuna-Shipkhana District Road and one LRCC of Jarkot-Ramnakot District Road) visited the corresponding road corridors to identify the disputed land, RBGs mobilization status and their performance. All three LRCCs chairpersons presented their findings and the efforts made by them to tackle the problems that arise during construction phase.

Emergency Maintenance and Rapid Condition Survey Training

On 17th and 18th December 2015, RAP3 DTA, Parbat conducted two days CPD training on Emergency Maintenance and Rapid Condition Survey for DDC/DTO/DTA technicians. The programme was inaugurated by Local Development Officer Shiva Prasad Rijal. The training was delivered by RAP3 DTL Kamal Prasad Regmi, DTO Chief Mahendra Bahadur Baniya and Environment and Energy Engineer Officer Manju Shilakar. The programme was wrapped up with the closing remark by LDO Shiva Prasad Rijal.

Public Audit of Payments to RMGs in Morang

Public Audit of RMG, Champakali Chokti, of Sundarpur-Yangsila-Dharan Road was organized on 14th December 2015 in a hall of Yangsila VDC. The program was chaired by Nawaraj Parajuli, chairman of Yangsila VDC. The main aim of public audit was to ensure fair wage distribution among the RMG members. The program also covered and clarified the RMGs about the insurance policies and safety aspects they need to follow during working hours.

District Transport Infrastructure Coordination Committee (DTICC) Meeting

DDC Jhapa, in assistance with RAP3 DTA organized DTICC Meeting for ARAMP approval of FY 072/73 on 10th December 2015. The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament, chief/representatives from political parties, Chief District Officer and other DTICC members including GoN line agencies. The program was chaired by Acting LDO Mr. Sushil Shrestha. The Administration, Planning and Monitoring Officer, Mr. Dipak Dahal of DDC started the program with his welcome speech. DTO Engineer, Mr. Bivek Sigdel briefly talked about different kinds of interventions and how they are prioritized while allocating budgets in the ARAMP. RAP3 DTL, Mr. Harihar Bhandari presented general view of ARAMP planning to implementation.

CPD Training

In line with RAP Continuing Professional Development annual timetable, RAP3 DTA team Kalikot conducted CPD training on DESIGN modules for DDC/DTO, SC  and DTA technicians on 14th Dec 2015. Mr Tika Ram Gyawali, Local Development officer, Mr Chakra Badhadur Shahi, District Technical officer including 25 technicians from DDC/DTO/SC/RAP DTA took part in the training. The modules covered under this training were:

 

2A - Introduction to Design (Nepal Rural Road Standards)

2B - Stage 1 Survey and Design

2C - Stage 2 Survey and Design Detailing

2D - Maintenance/Improvement Design

2E - Environmental Design

Agreement with LRUCs

An agreement between RAP3 DTA Kalikot and six LRUCs  (five LRUCs of SSDR and one LRUC of JRDR) was done on 13th Decmeber 2015 in district headquarters Manma. Three key personnels from each LRUC were participated. The particpants were oriented on role and responsibilities of road construction works and also made common consensus on gabion boxes transportation and its management. 

Workshop on “Introduction of Professional Engineer Title in Nepal”

On the 4th December 2015, the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) held a workshop on the "Introduction of Professional Engineer Title in Nepal". The workshop was supported by RAP3 and DFID. There was very active engagement and discussion amongst the participants and the NEC was extremely appreciative of the critical debate during the workshop as it was hugely beneficial in moving toward the realisation of this title, which is a vital step in building the strength of Nepal’s engineering sector. District Transport Infrastructure Coordination Committee (DTICC) Meeting

On 6th December 2015, RAP3 DTA Parbat conducted DTICC meeting for approving ARAMP of FY 072/73. In the meeting all active district level political parties representative's, LDO, CDO, DDC, DTO , RAP DTA and other stakeholders were actively participated. Local Development Officer Shiva Prasad Rijal chaired the meeting. Chief District Engineer Mahendra Bahadur Baniya presented the ARAMP of FY 072/73.

CPD Training

On 3rd and 4th December 2015, RAP-3, DTA Achham conducted two days CPD training on Emergency Maintenance Rapid Condition Survey for DDC/DTO, SC and DTA technicians. The programme was inaugurated by DTO Chief Mr. Lal Bahadur Bista who talked about the importance of such training for capacity development of individual staff. The training was delivered by RAP3, DTA (DEO) Mr. Mohan Ruwali and Supervision Consultant DTL/RE Mr. Bikash Khanal, and included relevant case study and examples. At the end of training seven participants took part in an exam on these modules. LDO Mr. Hemraj Bhusal proposed a vote of thanks to RAP-3 DTA, and formally concluded the training.
