Since the component was initiated in June 2016, it has worked across six districts (Bajura, Achham, Dadeldhura, Dailekh, Doti and Jumla) in the Mid and Far West and with multiple private sector partners including multinationals, MSMEs, financial service providers and academic institutions to remove barriers to growth and boost the economy.
CONNECT has leveraged private sector investment to enable the scale – up of enterprises and worked to strengthen the enabling environment for doing business.
CONNECT has impacted over 3,500 households and 1,500 individuals over the course of the pilot. This includes 474 women appointed as Hamri Didis, establishing their own micro-enterprises, and thousands of farmers that are making the shift to commercial agricultural production.
