The external audit team from TR Upadhaya and Co. Sagar Acharya and Sushil Parajuli arrived in Doti accompnaied by Purushotam Sharma, RAP3 Senior Accounts Manager on 18 December 2018 to undertake a scheduled audit of RAP3 CONNECT financial and administrative activities for the period of July 2017 to November 2018.
Yesterday, RAP3 hosted the 8th Market Development Forum Nepal (MDFN) learning event and presented lessons from the CONNECT pilot.
MDFN Convener, Mr Bharat Upadhyay, chaired the meeting and RAP3 CONNECT Team Leader, Ruth McPake presented on behalf of RAP3. There followed an engaging discussion on CONNECT's approach to selecting partners, access to finance, organic certification and where CONNECT fits within the context of M4P.

In partnership with Hatemalo Seed Production Cooperative, District Agriculture Development Office, Village Development Committee and local communities 5 irrigation ponds have been completed in Malika, Dailekh. A public audit was conducted following the first harvest after the ponds were constructed, confirming that the cultivation area and seed production have increased by 46% and 85% compared to the previous season.

The partnership between CONNECT, Unilever Nepal Limited and Prabhu Bank Limited has been recognised for its work to promote sustainable livelihoods for women by The Association for Consulting and Engineering Awards 2017. IMC Worldwide, the UK firm implementing RAP3 and convenor of the partnership accepted the accolade at the Awards ceremony held in London, last week.
Colleagues from DFID Nepal were in Dailekh and Kalikot last week to undertake their annual review of RAP 3. The review included a visit to three of CONNECT’s partners Pawan Agriculture Collection Centre, Hatemalo Seed Production Cooperative and Belpata Dairy Cooperative where DFID Nepal met with the leadership teams as well as key players in their value chains.
